Jogo: De Galho em Galho – Card Game / Toy

This is another socio-ecological work that enters my valuable list of art projects. This is the third project that educates through fun, counting on Dorival and Global Warming – children’s book and the Bioma Mission – web game. We had little time to create something different and that would exceed the cost of the project in quality. The idea. A tree that swings as you change the position pieces on its branches.

Making of

We began to have a dialogue to determine which style we could follow. I had in mind something with a paper craft look, simple yet with a 3D perspective and depth. However, the client wanted something more shaded with gradients but not as simple as paper craft. So, I created a moodboard to show what I had in mind. I started sketching, trying to merge the client’s desires with my vision. I made the first draft of what would be the box cover and then finalized the artwork. “Balanço Tree” was one of the names I suggested, but the final product was named “From Branch to Branch.”

The next step was to finalize one of the pieces that would be placed on top of the tree. I chose the Blue Macaw, as it would allow me to determine the finishing touches for the rest of the game. I outlined the game’s main attraction, a swinging paper tree that reacts to the weights we place on it. The tree is made of cardboard, so everything had to be carefully considered to ensure success.”
